Katherine Fogertey

As Chief Management Officer and Senior Strategic Advisor, Katherine leads the firm’s financial, operational, technological, and growth strategy. She also works with the firm’s attorneys on selected matters involving corporate finance, accounting, valuation, damages, governance, capital markets, complex financial products, and substantial financial or operating datasets.

Katherine serves on the Board of Directors and Audit Committee of Valvoline Inc. (NYSE: VVV), contributing experience in financial reporting, internal controls, enterprise risk, corporate strategy, capital allocation, operating performance, and investor communications.

Katherine helped lead Shake Shack (NYSE: SHAK) through a period of substantial expansion and financial transformation. During her tenure as CFO, systemwide sales exceeded $2.3 billion, the system expanded to more than 660 restaurants, restaurant-level margins increased by approximately 600 basis points, and Adjusted EBITDA grew fourfold.

She led finance, accounting, treasury, investor relations, planning, and public-company reporting; helped build the company’s data-science capability; and developed analytical systems supporting labor planning, pricing, marketing effectiveness, new-unit forecasting, and capital allocation.

Over 16 years at Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS), Katherine held roles spanning technology equity research, derivatives and cross-capital-structure investing, global single-stock derivatives, exchange-traded funds, credit products, and market structure. She later served as Vice President and lead equity analyst covering the U.S. restaurant industry.

Her work involved advising institutional investors and corporate executives, evaluating companies and financial products, developing original analytical frameworks, and translating complex market and operating information into investment conclusions.

Katherine has led the design and implementation of analytical operating systems across accounting, tax, financial planning, labor deployment, pricing, marketing, development, and corporate transformation. Her approach joins statistical analysis with frontline operating realities so that data improves both strategic decisions and execution.

Katherine speaks on the evolving role of the CFO, scaling public companies, capital markets, pricing, labor productivity, technology, and the use of data in operating decisions. Her commentary and work have been featured by Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, QSR Magazine, Nation’s Restaurant News, and other business and industry publications.
